Researcher in the Animal Production Research Institute (Istituto Sperimentale per la Zootecnia) of Agricultural Ministry in Monterotondo (Rome, Italy) from 18/1/1973. 
Research Director from 21/6/1983 of the Department of Animal Management and Reproduction, he coordinated many National and International project of research.

Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer PASHA

Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha has over 33 years of teaching, research and administration experience. He has supervised 117 MPhil and 11 PhD students and published over 80 research papers in refereed scientific journals. Prof. Pasha is author of chapters of two international books and presented papers in many national and international conferences. He was elected President of Asian Buffalo Association (2006-09) and selected for HEC Best University Teacher Award for the year 2009. He is member of board of governors of University of Management and Technology, Lahore and GC University, Lahore. He is member of Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Board, Punjab Agricultural Research Board. He won thirteen research grants and currently conducting two research projects. He has been working as consultant to GTZ, SMEDA, US Grain Council, IDRC Canada and World Bank.

Dr. John WILLIAMS

Dr Williams obtained his BSc degree from the University of London with honours in both Physics and Biology and his PhD in Biochemistry from the National Institute for Medical Research, London. He then moved to Edinburgh in Scotland to start his work on genetics, first with the University of Edinburgh before moving into the field of agricultural at the Roslin Institute, where he was Head of the Bovine Genomics Section, and Coordinator of the Institute Genetics Programme. He moved to the Parco Tecnologico Padano in 2005 where he is now the Science Director.

Dr Williams’ research has focussed on the genetic improvement of animals, and he has been coordinator of 6 European Union projects on topics such as meat quality, dairy production, cattle health, BSE and basic genetics/genomics research. He works with over 50 partners from European counties and many other countries worldwide including Kenya, Canada, USA, Brazil, Australia, Israel and China. As Science Director at the Parco Tecnologico Padano Dr Williams is responsible for overseeing the institute’s research programme on Animals and Plants which uses the latest genomic advances to address improved food supply, animal productivity, food quality, health and environmental sustainability.

Libertado C. CRUZ, Ph.D.

Dr. L. C. Cruz was responsible in the establishment of the Philippine Carabao Center as the first Executive Director from 1993-2014, the national agency implementing important social program to improve lives of millions of smallholder farming families. The national program is focused on genetically transforming the indigenous breed of water buffaloes from being draft animals to more efficient producers of milk and meat through the use of newly developed reproductive biotechniques. Extension efforts are massive in bringing to farmers the desired genetics, the appropriate production technologies, and the establishment of village level buffalo-based enterprises, in collaboration with LGUs, NGAs and NGOs.

He was a Professor of Reproductive Biotechnology and Professor Emeritus at the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) from 1974-2013; was Administrator of the National Dairy Authority (NDA) from 1999-2003; and was also tasked to lead the Livestock Biotechnology Research and Development Program of the Department of Agriculture, involving livestock commodities (cattle, buffalo, small ruminants, swine, and chicken) with focus on establishing DNA-Based Traceability System, Cryobanking of Animal Genetic Resources, Screening of Genetic Defects, and establishing gnomic selection. He is currently the Executive Officer of the International Buffalo Federation (IBF), an International Organization based in Monterotondo, Italy, of which he was the former President.
 

Dr. Inderjeet SINGH

Director, Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes Hisar 125 001, India

In the present assignment as Director, Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes of the ICAR, I have been engaged in planning and implementing investigations in different areas of buffalo development, extension and research aspects. The research is aimed at optimizing buffalo productivity, nutrient utilization, reproductive efficiency and enhance propagation of elite germplasm. Also worked as Head, Division of Buffalo Physiology and Reproduction for 10 years.
